Interview in America Part 1

Wanna read about the plug?
Read on this interview!
A few weeks ago, Sasshi and I went to America and Mexico, just to hang out
and check out a certain work overseas. Cool, isn't?
From the state where everything is bigger, Texas, a regular
reader from this blog: heavyrain, came to a few screen projections
in Roppongi and met us. After joined us in a great adventure around Yokohama
we talked about an external project. He and his group invited us to spread
ideas about the actual anime marketing in Japan and it's impact among fans.
During these events we had an interview for a local radio network, where
heavyrain is the main host and we attended it as guests.
Our main talk was about Seiya: past, present, future. He also wanted to talk
about us and how it is the world of Seiya in Japan.
Clips taken from this radio show are available in our private server, if
you have access, please feel free to listen to it. We don't have the full
show recorded, heavyrain told us is against the copyright there, and we
respect rules and laws.
Because this interview was in English but it had small dialogues in
Japanese and Spanish, Sasshi and I worked together to translate this first
part of the interview in English. We edited the original lines provided by
heavyrain in order to make your reading a better experience.
Enjoy your read!

heavyrain: Today we have special guests who are visiting us from Tokyo, Japan.
Before I introduce our guests I want to tell you this interview have questions
coming from our listeners and I decided to pick up the best ones to ask them directly.
Thank you to all your messages by telephone and e-mail. Turn up the volume!
Your favorite show is about to start and is bringing you The Best of Japan!
# Pegasus Fantasy
heavyrain: We are back and the talk needs to start, our guests have a
very tight schedule, so move on! All these previous months we have been
reading about something named The Evolution of Saint Seiya, since that day
we learned a lot of information and news that are like a pop-up here and there
coming from our favorite country: Japan. Everyday we can read about this title
in almost all the languages from all the countries and with different kind of
people, but as you know us, we only bring you the Best of Japan. And this is
where our guests start talking! Let me introduce you our special guests:
Sasshi & JapanRockStar!
JapanRockStar: Yo! Wazzup America! JapanRockStar from Japan to rock you!
Sasshi: Hi! This is Sasshi!
heavyrain: (Japanese) America Yokoso! (Welcome to America) ...
(English) Finally, after a long talk
with your boss and with you two, and a very expensive Four Seasons you are
here to talk about Seiya!
JapanRockStar: haha, that's right, but we enjoyed our flight and we will do
our best to give your listeners a great show! Burn cosmo!
heavyrain: So, let's start talking about you. Sasshi please be the first one.
Sasshi: Hi, my name is Sasshi a...
heavyrain: Yo! I saw your japanese passport and your name is even shorter.
JapanRockStar: haha, come on!
Sasshi: Please...
heavyrain: Alright, all I will say it's that in the line of your name, somewhere it ends
with the letter "O". Sorry, please continue 'Sasshi', I shoulnd't be rude
with a woman.
Sasshi: I was born in Edogawa and my favorite character is Seiya!
heavyrain: Ah, that's right! You are the girl who speaks Spanish, too.
Sasshi: (Spanish) It's very difficult for me.
heavyrain: (Spanish) So, who else you like other than Seiya?
Sasshi: Ah! ... Kakashi from Naruto... Sailor Moon ah... ah! Sailor Mars
from Sailor Moon!
[listen to the full dialogue in the clips where Sasshi talks about her
favorite music, anime, and much more about her!]
heavyrain: What about you JapanRockStar?
JapanRockStar: I like being a DJ and I'm always listening to music.
Even I have a few tracks where the girls of our group sing Seiya songs
and I make the mixes for the tracks, they are cool! I brought the CD we can
play one if you want to.
heavyrain: Sure thing!
JapanRockStar: Nowdays I am the administrator of our blog.
heavyrain: Yeah, finally your blog, tell us more about your blog.
JapanRockStar: As I said, now I'm the kind of owner there but our leader is
the real mind behind this project.
heavyrain: That has to be toripon.
JapanRockStar: Yes, he is busy so we all have to participate and write entries
in the blog that has his nickname.
heavyrain: And who are all those people?
JapanRockStar: Our leader doesn't write that much, but usually I am the one
taking the updates and scheduled updates. In our team we have AKBSaint, Mayu,
Sasshi of course, Yui, hawk, K, Ano Musume ...
heavyrain: And all of you are fans of Saint Seiya?
JapanRockStar: Yeah! We really enjoy it.
heavyrain: Of course. Well, I think we all here want to know what is this
named Seiya Project we read about it a few years ago. Now we have the Seiya
Evolution and recently about a big news that will shock us. Please you two
have to explain us what's going on in Japan?
JapanRockStar: The original form of the Seiya Project was to bring two stories.
Sasshi: Not neccesary two stories but the continuation of the real Seiya.
heavyrain: How come real?
Sasshi: As our master says "This is the real continuation of Seiya"
heavyrain: That's Next Dimension.
Sasshi: Pretty much, yeah.
heavyrain: And Lost Canvas?
JapanRockStar: Lost Canvas and Next Dimension were created as parallel stories
of the universe of Seiya.
heavyrain: Really? Where or when this was told to the fans?
JapanRockStar: You can find it in a special booklet released by the convenience
store Seven Eleven in Japan during the first week when Lost Canvas and
Next Dimension were published in Shounen Champion.
heavyrain: And you have that booklet?
Sasshi: Yes, we bring it so you can read it, too.
heavyrain: That's a handy move from you.
Sasshi: Here.
heavyrain: This is the famous booklet where it says what you just said?
JapanRockStar: It's on the 4th page.
heavyrain: Hard to miss it, it's a short one.
Sasshi: You can also see sketches and character designs from the manga of
Next Dimension and Lost Canvas and a few more information.
heavyrain: I am not an expert but I can understand the same as you said in
this booklet, and this one is official. Nice work there. But, what about now?
Sasshi: Now?
heavyrain: It's been the years since that was wrote there. So, what now?
At the beginning it was all the same and now they have even different
character names and story lines.
JapanRockStar: Sure, it's a parallel world we are talking about.
heavyrain: So Tenma, Alone and Sasha... what are they now? I'm confused.
Sasshi: Tenma is the character created by master Kurumada Masami, he is
the Saint of Pegasus from previous Holy War. In Next Dimension and in Lost
Canvas Tenma has a strong friendship with Alone since they were kids. Alone
in both stories is the reincarnation of Underworld, Hades. The difference
is Athena, while in Lost Canvas she is Sasha and in Next Dimension is Saori.
heavyrain: Ok but you are saying parallel stories and they are really
interesting but different, why?
JapanRockStar: It's clear and understandable, Seiya fans like what master
Kurumada writes and draw. They have the idea "It's not Kurumada, can't take it"
and that's cool, I recommend to everyone to take all stories like a side-dish.
heavyrain: How can you do that?
JapanRockStar: You can enjoy Next Dimension as the main line of the story, but
you can also enjoy Episode G, Gigantomachia, Lost Canvas and the original
side stories of Seiya. This title has become a whole universe everyone should
enjoy, Seiya is one of those titles that keeps alive since it was created back
on the 80s.
Sasshi: Episode G kept the track and now Lost Canvas is creating new Seiya
fans around the world.
heavyrain: I agree with you, but is it necessary to bring all these stories?
Why Kurumada hasn't just focus on the story we like: Saint Seiya? The Original!
JapanRockStar: I think all these stories are due it's circumstances.
Sasshi: These days I really enjoy Next Dimension while Lost Canvas is drawing
the line for me.
heavyrain: OK, I have another questions for you two, what's that Sega project,
the Seiya Online game?
JapanRockStar: A bad-ass game. Really! It's being developed by Sega.
heavyrain: Why we see almost zero previews from a huge game like this?
Sasshi: If I remember correctly, this game was planned since 2007 or so, and it
was under Sega China. I think Gamespot Japan reported about this game since it
started, they also announced the problem they had in China.
heavyrain: But that problem was before the music production?
JapanRockStar: Yes! The music production will be resumed later this year.
Sasshi: It stills have some hard work to be completed.
heavyrain: If it will take the same waiting time as Next Dimention I will die
first and maybe my kids will play it.
JapanRockStar: Usually these kind of games take it's time.
Sasshi: A not-ready version was shown in a certain event.
heavyrain: What about the release date?
Sasshi: It's not even scheduled, the release date will be a "Whenever is done".
heavyrain: Why all the projects related to Saint Seiya are like this? Long
waiting time and we don't get what we expect. Why Kurumada is not focusing in
one project then he can focus in the next one?
JapanRockStar: He is very busy these days, he has to change his work schedule
almost every month. He has overseas works such the game, a hollywood movie,
Next Dimension, Lost Canvas manga and anime, Rinkake...
heavyrain: Did you just say movie?
Sasshi: It's a collaboration work.
heavyrain: About Seiya?
Sasshi: Maybe.
JapanRockStar: Don't get a white hope.
heavyrain: I won't get more information about this from you, isn't?
Sasshi: There are more topics we can talk.
heavyrain: I have a question from some dude here, but it's in Spanish, so
that's for you Sasshi. (Spanish) What do you think about America and Mexico?
Sasshi: Do I have to answer in Spanish?
heavyrain: Please do.
Sasshi: (Spanish) It's beautiful.
[Listen more in the audio clips]
JapanRockStar: Ole!
[Listen more in the audio clips]
heavyrain: haha that's a nice one.
Sasshi: My Spanish is not as good as I type. People think I'm ok but it's very
difficult when I have to talk.
heavyrain: It's ok. Let's move forward. JapanRockStar what's your favorite
character from Saint Seiya?
JapanRockStar: I don't have a particular character but for now I'll say: Kanon.
heavyrain: Do they call you JapanRockStar? i.e. How they call you in your group
of friends, like sasshi, toripon, mayuyu, etc.
JapanRockStar: Our leader always call me by my name, but the others call me
RockStar.
heavyrain: And you Sasshi?
Sasshi: They call me Sasshi.
heavyrain: Ok, time for some break. Let's listen to Hana no Kusari by the girls
of the toripon blog.
JapanRockStar: Rock my mix!
heavyrain: We will right back!
* To be continued...
Hope you enjoyed this part, keep in touch!
