Omega is different from Lost Canvas though - Lost Canvas was a true OAV series with TV sponsor, not even pay-per-views channels, so it was solely dependant upon DVD sales, and since the sales in Japan were mediocre it doesn't give much hope for a sequel.

As Archange explained, with Omega being a TV series, it is much more relying upon ratings and merchandising that DVD sales. Omega's rating are good thus far and while we can't really tell for merchandising sales the fact that they keep producing merchandising is a good sign. Of course, good DVD/BD sales would be good too, but Omega could keep going and get a second season or some such even if DVD sales aren't so good based solely on ratings and merchandising.

I'm not saying low DVD sales with cause Omega to be cancelled, I'm sure that Toei has a predetermined ending for it and the anime will at least reach that. I use the Lost Canvas example to show how important DVD sales can be.

Now, DVD sales fall within merchandise sales, specially for anime like Omega that has such a small toyline at the moment, and Toei puts far more weight on merchandise sales than ratings. Den-O had the lowest ratings for a Kamen Rider show at that point and most of its toys only sell average, the reason why it became a juggernaut for Toei was because it had amazing DVD sales, which made up most of the merchandise profit brought on by that series. I've heard that the CDs for the opening and the OST sold really well, that too falls under merchandise sells.

En ce moment elle travaille sur Kyousogiga, une série d'ONA, ce qui est probablement la raison pour laquelle elle n'a pas le temps de repasser sur omega.

OP credits clearly say Akatsuki Yamatoya; and the writing really fell more Yamatoya-ish than Yoshida-ish. I don't think Yoshida would have made Sonia go away without verifying Haruto and Ryuho were dead. Can't she feel their Cosmo or something?

Gobusters was clearly boosted by Wizard... regardless, people in 2ch's ratings thread believe that Omega boost was thanks to Battle Spirits ending plus new series debut rather than thanks to Wizard.
